Green city initiative is a plan to make the city more environmentally friendly and sustainable. The world is facing a n ecological crisis and most of this crisis have their origin in most cities in the world. Research shows that the more industrialised the country is the more harm it creates to the environment. The reason being that the cities were not designed to be environmentally friendly and sustain themselves. It is evident that by 2030 most of the population in the world will be living in the urban centres. Therefore for us to win the war about Climate crisis we have to start by looking for ways to green our cities.

This problem can be solved through various ways, which include.

Use of clean energy, reducing pollution, improving the transport system, creating awareness about environmental conservation  and tree planting. As onemilliontrees4kilifi we have taken the two most effective and sustainable ways to solve this problem which include creating awareness over the same and planting of trees. Planting of trees is done in the public parks close to the city on the road reserve area, and public institutions in the city. 

By doing this we are able to mitigate the crisis of climate change, we are able to get clean air and reduce the greenhouse gas and make the city more livable
